A new resort development located in the northern part of Peachland, British Columbia, along the shores of Okanagan Lake. The site is the current location of Todd’s RV and Campground, which was up for sale for a while. It was bought by Porchlight Developments and a proposal was submitted to the municipal office of Peachland for a new development.
Porchlight Developments is an active developer in western Canada, having built 3,000 homes, townhomes, and condos, primarily in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Porchlight is currently developing three other projects in the Okanagan under the brand name Life: Penticton, Lake Country, and another condo development in Peachland. Information about those projects will be released soon.
3976 Beach Ave Development Details
The details available show that the resort development will consist of:
- 6 residential towers
- 7 units per tower
- 4 single, detached homes
- Separate parking for the homes
No details of the residential units were included in the development plans nor on the website, but the design suggests they will be quite spacious. The building is tiered back towards the hillside with the lower units likely having 2-3 bedrooms and the upper ones being higher-end and fewer bedrooms.
This development will be zoned for short-term vacation rentals as it is currently zoned for a campground. Peachland is a very popular destination for families looking for a quieter vacation and this location will be appealing to those people. There is beach access across the road and the development is not far away from the larger beaches of Peachland.
The public hearing had a lot of positive comments for the development. It will be a welcome sight to people visiting Peachland as it continues to transform into a modern hub for vacations.
More details about the development can be found at the Peachland website and at the Porchlight website dedicated for the project, 3976 Beach Ave.
