Newtown Architecture is adding another development to their list of proposed developments for the city of Kelowna. Previously mentioned was the development on Pridham Ave, which is going to be a multi-family condo building comprised of four lots in the Capri-Landmark area of Kelowna. The development at 1036 Coronation Avenue is going to be on the edge of the downtown core, near the corner of Gordon Ave and Clement Drive.

Newtown Architecture is a development company based in Kelowna. Newtown has several projects underway, including a four-plex on Bernard Ave in the Bankhead area. They were also approved for a townhome complex in Rutland in 2019, and recently completed the Brookside Villas, a townhome complex in West Kelowna. Newtown Architecture Development Details For Coronation Ave

The Coronation Avenue development is going to be a multi-story condo building. These are the details released to the public so far:

  • 48 condo units (4 two bedrooms, 32 one bedrooms, 12 studio units)
  • 1 level secured parkade plus exterior parking stalls
  • side amenity area for residents (green space)

The development documents mention the building only being 36 condo units, but the drawings and renderings suggest otherwise. The first floor of condo units will feature patio space and the other floors will have balconies (with the exception of the studio condos).

This development is in a growing area of Kelowna. A lot of development has been occurring along Clement Avenue, including breweries, office spaces, the new RCMP detachment, new Telus building, and numerous other retail stores. That is in addition to the condo developments, with One Water Street and Ellis Parc at one end, then 1215 St. Paul, Proxima, and The Lodges along the other blocks.

Condo developments along Coronation and Cawston Avenues will be a great longterm investment as the downtown continues to be a desirable place to work and live.
